Awards Dinner

Our former SPL, Austin Aguirre, has received the Outstanding Scouter Award for the Chisholm Trail District. He was recognized at the annual Chisholm Trail Awards Dinner on Saturday, March 2 at the First Methodist Church's Dennis Hall in Temple. He was presented with a plaque and a hiking stick. Austin's father, Dr. Robert Aquirre, also received the District's Trailblazer Award. Phil Everett our scoutmaster is standing next to Austin.

This is the first posting on the new blog created for troop 153. This will be a record of troop activities.
The first activity to report is our camp out to the Big Thicket National Preserve last weekend. We hiked through the woods and saw lots of plants. At the campsite we cooked our dinner in dutch ovens.
